A Little About Megan

I have been teaching Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga since 2009. What began as an exploration to deepen my studies as a yoga teacher blossomed into a passion for supporting pregnant folks in their experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood through the tools of yoga.

I'm also a mama myself, and personally very familiar with just how much a yoga practice helped me strengthen my body during pregnancy, how beneficial it was during labor and now after birth as I practice to connect with my body, calm my mind and be strong and healthy as a parent to my daughter.

I have also attended many births as a doula, and have had the humbling opportunity to witness and support mamas in child birth in a variety of settings, from home births, to birth centers to hospital births.

I am a firm believer that every person has a right to choose what is best for their body, their birth and their family. I also hope that through providing education and resources, I can provide a space that is safe and welcoming for new moms and moms to be, to explore their ever changing bodies and find support for the unique experiences that are part of all the stages of becoming a mother.

I believe that we are all inherently strong and that sometimes we just need a gentle nudge to be reminded of the power each one of us holds.

How Be Strong Mama Came To Be

Be Strong Mama came about after many of my students bemoaned the lack of Prenatal and Postnatal yoga classes available to them at times that worked for their busy schedules. In most cities, it seems like there's a yoga studio on every corner or in every gym, yet few offer yoga specifically for pregnant and postpartum bodies. I could only imagine the experience of pregnant people in other areas of the world where regular Prenatal and Postnatal classes taught by trained instructors were not being offered.

I hope you find a place of empowerment, instruction and support on your journey through parenthood at Be Strong Mama. I look forward to helping you on your journey!
