Achy hips? Strengthen don't stretch

One of the most common complaints during exercise in pregnancy and simply in general during pregnancy is sore/tight hips. Why is this?
  • Your baby is growing bigger and your center of gravity is shifting so the body needs to stabilize itself to keep you upright.
  • The abdominals are getting weaker because they are stretching to accommodate your growing baby.
  • As a result, the low back and hips are being asked to do a lot more work to support your baby’s weight and support your changing posture.
